FSFLA – First Steps

During fisl6.0 in Porto Alegre, Brazil, members of the team involved in
building the Free Software Foundation Latin America (FSFLA) will meet
the community for the first time, in order to share information on the
future organization's objectives, current status and next steps in the
process. We'd like to invite everyone to participate in this session,
which will take place on June 4th at 9:00am in romm 41A, with the
participation of Janet Casey and David "Novalis" Turner from the Free
Software Foundation USA (FSF).

Abstract

With Free Software's growing worldwide popularity, it becomes important
to have a regional organization, sister to the FSF, Free Software
Foundation Europe (FSFE) and Free Software Foundation India (FSFI) to
work together with them jointly in promoting and nurturing Free
Software's philosophy, legal framework and ideals. In this session, we
will talk about the work done so far towards structuring FSFLA, and also
about the milestones in the road still ahead of us.
